Questas is Australia’s largest independent hydraulics company providing essential aftermarket hydraulic services and distribution to more than 3,000 customers across its national network of 35 sites.
In June 2019, Allegro acquired a majority stake in Questas, investing with the founder, Kede Carboni, in a Partnership deal.
Under Allegro’s majority ownership, Questas almost quadrupled its EBITDA. The growth was been delivered organically and through a strategic program of earnings-accretive M&A, with 10 bolt-on acquisitions completed during the hold period. Allegro’s value creation plan with Questas was focused on building out its hydraulic capabilities, delivering market leading service for its tier one customers and further diversifying its revenue into the resources, infrastructure, manufacturing, defence and emerging technologies industries.
In April 2025, Allegro sold its majority stake in Questas to private equity firm Five V Capital.
