Allegro joined the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (UNPRI) in 2011, becoming one of the early adopters among private equity managers in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2023, we strengthened our ESG commitment by launching our ESG 2.0 strategy with a strong focus on ESG value creation and risk management, and we implemented this strategy across Allegro Funds (the Manager) and our portfolio companies. In doing so, we hit a number of major milestones: We completed 8 steps out of a 10-step ESG onboarding process for all our portfolio companies and helped them define their own ESG strategies and KPIs. We introduced Pulsora, an online ESG data platform, to help us track, measure and report progress in a meaningful way. We embedded ESG across our entire investment lifecycle, having developed a library of proprietary tools and templates to support integration. We also switched to 100% renewable energy at Allegro Funds (the Manager) and are developing a pathway to creating further opportunities to reduce or offset our emissions as part of a lower-carbon future.
This year, we are aiming for every portfolio company to complete a Scope 3 baseline assessment and put clear decarbonisation targets in place. We see ESG as a powerful lever for value creation, which can help enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance, manage risks, and unlock new growth opportunities for our portfolio companies. Our commitment to building great businesses has been at our core for over 20 years, and we will continue to enhance our approach, strategy, and tools and deliver sustainable returns for our investors.
