Johan joined Allegro in 2008 and has been a Managing Director since January 2022. Over his career at Allegro, he has established a proven track record across a number of complex transactions. These include the turnaround and sale of Everest Ice Cream in 2024, the acquisition of Great Southern Rail in 2015, Allegro’s partnership with KKR on the BOSI portfolio of syndicated loans in 2012, and significant investments such as Slater & Gordon, Camp Australia and Perth Radiological Clinic, where he currently serves on the board.
Allegro Co-founding Partner, Chester Moynihan, said:
“Johan has been a long term and critical member of the Allegro deal team. He has been instrumental in a number of high profile and complex Allegro investments, taking a leadership role in originating deals, working closely with management teams to support business transformation and as an experienced and reliable custodian for the businesses. His promotion to Partner reflects his significant contribution to the firm’s growth in recent years and the valued leadership role he plays within the firm.”
Allegro Partner, Johan Krynauw, said:
“It’s an honour to join the Allegro partnership. It’s a privilege to invest on behalf of our investors and work in partnership with our management teams to realise growth potential and deliver value. I am excited to play a larger role in the firm’s leadership team and help support the next phase of Allegro’s growth, particularly as we approach Fund V.” Johan’s promotion follows the appointment of Kevin Martin as COO, and the addition of Rohan Costello and James Cefis to the investment team, as Allegro continues to grow its platform to pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.
